iMEdD, in collaboration with Solomon, is hosting an open event to present the investigation conducted by Alexia Kalaitzi, Giorgos Christides, and Alexandros Avramidis, titled “Tracing the Path of Greece’s Plastic Waste,” focusing on plastic waste recycling.
Where does our recycled plastic waste end up?
The investigation employs GPS trackers to trace the journey of plastic waste deposited in blue bins, documenting its destinations. It examines the rate of plastic waste recycling in Greece and the European Union, identifies obstacles to plastic reduction in Europe, and investigates the fate of plastics that bypass recycling.
The investigation was conducted as part of the 4th cycle of the iMEdD incubator, which revolved around the theme of climate inequity.
Joining the discussion will be Nikos Charalambides, Executive Director of Greenpeace Greece: Moderator: Iliana Papangeli, journalist of Solomon.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 21st, at 6p.m. at iMEdD.
