MIIR is a non-profit organization that was founded in January 2019 with the aim to enhance the genre of journalism that holds those on power accountable and defends public good. MIIR’s investigations are provided free of charge.
- Journalists of the MIIR team Konstantina Maltepioti and Nikos Morfonios participated respectively in the workshop “How to use free satellite imagery and data to investigate natural disasters“ and the panel “Reporting of Tempi train crash: A constant challenge for journalists“ in the framework of iMEdD International Journalism Forum 2025.
- MIIR was part of the Media Village 2023.
- iMEdD Lab carried out data analysis for the first pan-European cross-border investigation on femicides, conducted by MIIR in cooperation with 18 journalistic teams, in the framework of EDJNet.
- Journalists of the MIIR team, Janine Louloudi, Nikos Morfonios and Kostas Zafeiropoulos, participated in iMEdD International Journalism Forum 2022, with their own flash session, addressing the topic “Journalism in Greece – the Dystopian Reality of Data”.
- Janine Louloudi was also one of the team members of the project “Trapped in Paradise – The dark face of Greek tourism”, which participated in the 1st cycle of the iMEdD Incubator.
