In collaboration with Columbia University’s Lede Program and supported by SNF, iMEdD provided 6 Greek fellows with 10-week data journalism fellowships, emphasizing data analysis and visualization skills.

As part of its collaboration with Panteion University, iMEdD hosted a podcast production workshop for students from the Department of Communication, Media & Culture. Focused on Gen Z, Media, and Climate Change, students produced podcasts on topics such as wildfires, fast fashion, water scarcity, and greenwashing.

As part of the #righttoknowGR campaign, iMEdD joined Vouliwatch and 13 other organizations and media outlets in co-signing a joint letter urging Greek authorities to improve public access to information through legal reforms.

Drawing on months of investigation following Michalis Katsouris’s fatal injury, iMEdD’s audio documentary features interviews across Greece and Croatia with experts, fans, and victims’ families, enhanced by multimedia, to explore ultras, their societal ties, and darker connections.

In May 2024, President Joe Biden announced plans to quadruple tariffs on Chinese electric cars, adding to the ongoing trade war with Beijing. iMEdD explored this "New Cold War" through expert interviews, and geopolitical analysis.

This September, our annual journalism gathering brought together over 1,000 attendees for 52 sessions featuring 128 speakers from more than 30 countries. The Forum also hosted the UNCOVERED Conference 2024, and encouraged collaboration, with 21 journalism students from 12 universities worldwide creating real-time content in a pop-up newsroom.

Co-hosted by the SNF Ithaca Initiative and iMEdD, the inaugural summit in Wilmington, Delaware, united journalists, academics, and students to explore the role of media in democracy. Through keynotes and panels, it addressed the relevance, challenges, and sustainability of the fourth estate in a fragmented world.

Ηeld through iMEdD, the SNF Dialogues series of discussions in U.S. tackled pivotal questions about civic engagement and the role of institutions in modern society. Conversations explored libraries as community hubs, the shift from consumers to citizens, and universities' role in democracy.

iMEdD collaborated with the SNF Nostos 2023 team to create, edit, and oversee content for the SNF Nostos Conference on mental health, ensuring an interactive and dynamic experience for all visitors.

iMEdD’s journalistic team revisited seven major tragedies that deeply impacted Greece, exploring the shared themes that link them. In parallel, iMEdD collaborated with experts to create a “Journalists’ Code of Conduct” for reporting on traumatic events, outlining essential journalistic principles for covering such crises responsibly.

The iMEdD International Journalism Forum 2023 welcomed 140+ speakers from 35 countries to discuss urgent topics like the climate crisis, migration, and corruption.

Held through iMEdD, a lively SNF Dialogues discussion on the role of media in democracy, Spectators or Citizens, raised critical questions about the evolving relationship between citizens and media in shaping political engagement.

In an iMEdD explainer video, Professor Alex de Waal examines Gaza's food crisis, explaining how shortages escalate to famine and exploring legal actions against using hunger as a war tactic.

What is the level of public and journalists’ own trust in journalism? iMEdD, in cooperation with the Public Opinion and Market Research Unit of the University of Macedonia, conducted two nationwide surveys, aiming to map both public and professionals' views and attitudes towards the journalism profession.

Aiming at an interactive and dynamic experience for all visitors of SNF Nostos Health 2022, iMEdD supported the SNF Nostos team with the creation, curation, and supervision of the content of the SNF Nostos Conference as well as the side events.

iMEdD produced the Greek edition of the Data Journalism Handbook, a guide exploring the opportunities, challenges, and processes of data journalism.

Shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, iMEdD set up an observatory in cooperation with international independent journalistic organisations, universities, and expert analysts in order to document the evolution and impact of the events surrounding the crisis in Ukraine.

The Forum raised the issue of trust in journalism, in an attempt to look deeper into the causes, effects and possible solutions. For 5 days, renowned Greek and international speakers, journalists, media professionals and the public had the opportunity to attend workshops, talks, discussions, case studies, special screenings and other interactive activities.

The 52nd live discussion of SNF Dialogues, an SNF initiative held through iMEdD, brought together youngsters from different parts of the world, to discuss social media's effects on young people's mental health.

iMEdD curated and supervised content for the 2021 SNF Nostos Conference, where thought leaders from various fields explored the relationship between humanity and artificial intelligence, addressing the big questions about our future.

2021 saw iMEdD join the European Press Prize as a founding member, furthering its dedication to high-quality journalism.
