iMEdD (incubator for Media Education and Development) is launching a new cycle of the Incubator program, inviting journalists active in the local press in Greece to submit t their proposals for participation. The program aims to support the creation of original content for publication.
We are looking for projects that result from the collaboration of at least two journalists from different local media outlets in Greece, with the goal of publishing their work in at least two local media platforms. This cycle focuses on supporting professional journalists who aim to spotlight critical issues affecting local communities.
By fostering interaction and knowledge-sharing, the initiative seeks to strengthen investigative journalism, address common challenges such as limited resources, and highlight shared concerns across different regions of the country. Publishing in at least two local media outlets ensures broader dissemination of the information.
The application period opens on January 20 and closes on February 16 at 23:59.
Who Can Apply
The program is open to groups of professional journalists (employed or freelance) working in different local media outlets, from different cities, regions or even counties of Greece.
Accepted Submission Formats: Written reports, Photojournalism, Audio reports or podcasts, Short journalistic videos.
Applications will be evaluated by an independent jury to select the participants.
What the Program Offers
- Coverage of research costs (travel, accommodation, food, etc.).
- Production support through iMEdD’s network of collaborators (photographers, sound engineers, videographers, editors, graphic artists, subtitlers) based on the needs outlined in the application.
- Collaboration opportunities with the iMEdD Data Unit for data gathering, analysis, and visualization, if required for the project.
- Mentoring from iMEdD’s international network of collaborators.
