iMEdD (incubator for Media Education and Development) analyzes the pre-election speeches of political leaders in the context of experimental research that combines human expertise with innovative AI models, such as ChatGPT. The analysis identifies topics, assesses sentiment and estimates levels of polarisation and populism.
In collaboration with DATALAB (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and political scientist, PhD candidate Antonis Galanopoulos, the pioneering artificial intelligence model ChatGPT 3.5 turbo was used, as well as human intelligence, to perform algorithmic analyses of the speeches of six Greek political party leaders: Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Alexis Tsipras, Nikos Androulakis, Dimitris Koutsoubas, Kyriakos Velopoulos and Yanis Varoufakis.
