During the PACE plenary session in Strasbourg, parliamentarians attended a special screening of the award-winning documentary The Other Half, which highlights the human stories behind migration to Europe. Organized by the Assembly’s Migration Committee and introduced by Vice-President Pierre-Alain Fridez, the event coincided with debates on missing migrants and proposals to tackle smuggling.
Through a video message, Director Giorgos Moutafis emphasized the consequences of restrictive migration policies, while David Best, the Council of Europe’s Special Representative on Migration, praised the film for its emotional portrayal of the human experience, urging reflection and action on migration issues.
