It was February 24th when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation, launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, triggering the largest war on European soil since the Yugoslav war and, of course, since World War II.
At the same time, Russia has been hit with severe punitive sanctions, including asset freezes and export bans, sanctions that ‘hit’ the growth prospects of the world economy, which was just beginning to recover from the recession brought on by COVID-19.
